We have decided to pass on moving. My husband and I didn't have a peace about moving at this time. We want to wait until we can buy a home but it is so hard! It can get very frustrating at times. It can seem like an uphill battle trying to save money and be patient. We are very blessed to live where we do, we're close to our church, family, friends, our home school classes, and my husband can walk to work! I need to focus on the blessings of being here.
I can still learn how to be self sufficient while being here. I can focus on adding more items to our garden and simplifying our lifestyle. I can work on cutting our utility bills down and cooking from scratch. I can teach our children how to wait on the Lord and His perfect timing. I can cut our grocery bill and learn to quilt and sew. I can continue to find local sources of raw milk, grass fed beef, eggs, and chicken. I can be content at home and with what I have.

I know waiting is hard...God is in control..I dream the same dreams you do. I would love to have my own chickens but we are in the city and it is a no no right now..They are trying to pass a bill in our town that will allow chickens in your back yard...up to 5 of them.. we own our home and not a lot of land...just a yard..and it took years to get this way...In the mean time learn all you can so when you do get your own land and the economy is doing better then you are prepared to start that journey you want...We don't have property but I do challenge myself in growing veggies and harvesting them on this piece of property God provided for us...Your doing the right thing by waiting..
So many people I know who are renting and paying rent and then get home to their rental and there is a forclosure notice on the door...The owners were not paying the mortgage on the rental..So they had to find a place quickly..Lisa
I think you made the right decision, esp since you are renting from your dh's boss and he works next door. Wouldn't want to ruin a good thing right now.
Do you have a timeline for when you can buy your own place? maybe having some goals along the way to help you achieve your big goal will help the time pass. Good luck!
