As the weather gets cooler and the leaves start falling I like to make our home cozy. I know that in a few weeks (or less!) our lovely weather will take a turn for the worst and we'll be hunkering down in our home. I used to believe that I couldn't afford to redecorate my home on a budget but now I know that's not true!
Until this Summer I only shopped yard sales for toys, books, and clothes which saved me a bundle but then I discovered blogs like Thrifty Decor Chick and The Nesting Place and our home hasn't looked the same since!!
So far at the yard sales I've bought a kitchen cart/island for $10, an old Secretary desk $20, end tables $7, wicker rocker $10, tons of pictures and mirrors for under $5, lamps less than $5, two kitchen chairs for under $7, and my favorite thing a quilt for $5!! Our home is finally taking shape--I've dreamed of creating a warm, cozy, welcoming place to rest for years and it's coming together.
The best part is that our budget hasn't taken a hit. It's all been spent out of my weekly allowance of $20!! Have you taken the thrift store challenge of redecorating your home on a budget?

I love thrift store shopping. I always find the most interesting items that I would never have thought of using.
