Avoid eating Out


It can be hard to avoid eating out at times for example- running errands, field trips, spur of the moment play dates. How do you manage? I keep a small container of juice boxes, granola bars, and pretzels in my van. Now whenever we're tempted to eat out we just grab a snack out of our box!

Great tip. I haven't eaten out in... months. Makes me sad but at least its more money for rent!

Ooh, this is the thing I really need to work on! I'm so tempted to run through a drive-thru "just for a drink" if I don't think ahead and plan. Then the drink turns into lunch, etc. I hadn't thought of juice boxes, this would work I think.

When I was a kid (decades ago!), it was a huge, huge treat to have takeout for lunch. That was long before there was an average of four places in every zip code, LOL! It should always be that way--a treat, not the norm. Although, as a mom with four (19-27 now), I can sure understand the lure of it. Wish I'd known about your snack idea 20 years ago, LOL!
BTW, as for myself, if I'm in the mood I only get the kid's meal. It's more than enough for me and I have been keeping the 'toys' in a box for use as stocking stuffers for my friend's kids!
