Missing the coupon deals?

When I first started blogging I was using coupons heavily, I had given them up for awhile and then I started reading all the money saving blogs and decided to give it a go. Recently, however I was convicted to begin eating a local/all natural diet again. I'm also trying to be less dependant on drug stores for toothpaste, soap, shampoo, deodorant, etc. I've found recipes for all of the above and as I run out I will try each homemade recipe to see which work the best for me.

I still need to shop on a budget for our family of seven. I am working on a budget and here's what I'm thinking my breakdown will be...

$75 for meat
$100 for fruit/vegetables ( two of my girls only eat fruit/veggies)
$100 milk/juice
$50 for baking supplies
** I haven't shopped this type of budget yet, I'm just thinking out loud, I have no idea if this will work or not.***

How does your budget breakdown? Do you think I could manage on this budget without coupons?

Hello,
I think you can manange. Remember most coupons aren't for Real Foods. Most are for processed foods. Since you have a big family. Buy plain yogurt in the big containers and add a little raw honey to it for sweetner. That is much better than the small ones.Ask at your store for mark don produce. I sometimes get bags of organic apples,pears or bananas for 1,00 I cook the apples and pears to make sauce and use the bananas to make bread. Most of the bananas are good enough you can eat them just as they are.
As far as meat use it as a side dish . make veggies the main part of your meal. Make more casseroles that way you won't need as much meats. Also soups will stretch your meat.

Hello,
I forgot a couple things. Beans and Rice will also stretch your meals. Peanut Butter and bread makes a great lunch or snacks.
Buy whole chickens. They are great for feeding a large family.
I serve a couple meatless meals each week.
For breakfast instead of processed cereal cook Oatmeal or Cream of Rice . Eggs are also very cheap and go a long ways.
