At the Homestead

Today the kids and I went to a Cowboy Day. We learned how to rope and the kids got to ride the horses. We also watched a shooting demo. It was very interesting. This was a free program through a reading program...so no money spent.

My husband did go to Walmart to buy new shoestrings for his work boots and that was all he bought!!

I'm seeing some growth on my raspberry and blueberry plants. It's very exciting to see how everything is growing. I found more tomatoes on my plants! I'm hoping to get the area around our shed cleaned out the next time it's cooler out. I

We did turn on our air conditioning today, I figured that when the first load of laundry was dry in less than an hour on the clothes line it was too hot! However the weather forecast says that on Monday it will only be a high of 82 and then we'll turn the air back off. We ate dinner from the crockpot again and have enough leftover pulled pork for two days worth of lunches. I'll be doing some baking tomorrow since the air is on and we're staying home all day.

Cloth diapers are still working out great. Reagan wears them all night with no leaks. I'm doing a load every other day. It would be great to have a couple more but I don't know if I'll buy more or not. Originally I was only going to use them during the day but I've been using the 24 hours and using them when we're out and about too. Once our spending freeze is over I'll know for sure if I need to buy more.

We are still without a cell phone and I am finding I don't miss it. It was nice but not worth the extra money!! I would love to give up cable but the hubby would probably lose his mind!! We can afford to have it, but it just seems like a waste of money.
