Christmas is my favorite time of to have friends and family over. It can be hard though when you're entertaining on a shoestring budget. We want to make memories and have fun without breaking the bank. Today, I want to talk about some creative ways to host Christmas gatherings.
Our extended family hosts a traveling Christmas tree. We start at one person's house and eat breakfast and look at their tree and other decorations. We stop at each families home and eat some sort of snack/meal and enjoy looking at the decorations. This is a great way to have family over without spending too much on food.
Host a Christmas ornament making day. Search for frugal ornaments on pinterest and choose a couple to make with your children and their friends.
One thing that we're doing this year is having a Polar Express Pajama Party! We've invited several of our closest friends to come over for an evening of fun. We'll all gather in our pajamas and watch the Polar Express movie. We're also going to make a Christmas ornament. The food is just homemade popcorn, cookies, and of course hot hot chocolate!
How do you keep your entertaining budget under control?

Fortunately, I do save every month for Christmas, but I will have to be VERY diligent about not going over this amount as I have in years past. My girls are 16 and 12, but I would like to come up with something fun like your party for their ages and interests. Need to get planning!
