Homestead Happenings

Today we had my oldest girls birthday party...they're turning 6 and 8...where does the time go?? We had two cakes I made from scratch and fresh vegetables and grilled hamburgers. After the party all the girls and I headed to the gardens and picked 10 tomatoes, 1 cucumber,1 red raspberry, and dug some potatoes. I'm planning on canning my potatoes and some peaches this week. If my Roma tomatoes ever get ripe I'll be making salsa as well. I'm also going to check into a road side stand that sells sweet corn for $1.50 a dozen, if it looks good I'll be buying a bunch!!

Tomorrow night after it cools down the girls and I are going to be weeding our big garden and picking any bugs that might be hiding!! I've also been thinking about next years garden and am getting excited already.

VBS is finally over, the girls had a great time and I was able to do some stock up shopping trips but I am tired!!! My son still has football practice every night next week but then it all slows done to only two times a week.

Our home school is running smoothly so far. We've only been working on math and phonics. My son has also been working on his history as well. I'm planning on adding in some more work this coming week.

Hi, I found the produce auction that you mentioned previously and was going to go tomorrow. It is about an hour and 20 minutes from me. I hope to get bushels of tomatoes. If you are headed there for Monday's auction, email me and maybe we could meet. Would love to meet in person.
