Shopping Helpers

I am always trying to find time to spend one on one with each of my children. It can get difficult because they share bedrooms and we're always together. I was searching trying to find another way to carve out some solo time, when I realized that I could give up "my " time when I go grocery shopping. I go grocery shopping at least once a week so we alternate which child gets to go. I try to make it fun and the one who goes gets to pick out an extra snack and a lunch choice. When my son comes with me we make a stop at the movie rental store and he gets to pick out a game.

I also have made a special point in taking just the girls out on Saturday for yard sales and thrift store shopping. It gives us time to laugh and play. I hope that it will also become a tradition that they will look forward to.

For more works for me Wednesday check out we are that family

I really like your blog! Found you from WFMW. I like how direct your financial goals are. The no spending months are very interesting! I am always spending to "save" money and am finally realizing that it doesn't.
Nice to meet you,
